Directing side stage at Annual Production in Sydney 2018

Tara Greenaway

Originally from Dubbo NSW, I danced with Dubbo Ballet Studio from age 3 till leaving high school. It was during my teens that I had the chance to become an assistant teacher and I fell in love with teaching.

I moved to Sydney at 19 to study Fine Arts at University of Sydney (Sydney College of the Arts), during this time I taught for various studios whilst studying. During my honours year I realised my true passion was in ballet teaching and so I added to my qualifications and BAMBINO BALLET was born.

Becoming a mother to 3 darling children during the years of running the studio was hard work but Iā€™m blessed to have been able to watch the beauty of dance through them.

After a rewarding 14 years mentoring students from 12mths to adult with countless performances and examinations under my directorship my family and I made the sea-change and moved to the magnificent Coffs Coast and it is here the dance journey continues just in a different capacity and in a spectacular location!

Over the past 5 years my training and professional development has extended to include, yoga teacher training and trauma-informed Somatic therapy modalities; I am now a registered practitioner of Spinal Attunement, Parasympathetic breath work and The Self Holding method. I am also quite involved in the local Steiner school, serving in and outside the classroom.

My intention moving forward is to bridge eastern philosophy, traditional wholistic practises and the art of dance into a program that provides children (and adults) a launchpad into building a positive and proactive relationship with the body, mind and spirit.
